Summer is in full force and sunscreen is in the news! Last month the Environmental Working Group (EWG.org) released their 2015 Guide to Sunscreens with a few big bombshells. Some very common sunscreen brands topped their “Hall of Shame” list for a variety of reasons including those that contain chemicals that may cause cancer or disrupt hormones.
The good news is that there are 217 beach and sport sunscreens that do meet their criteria. Included in this list is one of our go-to facial sunscreens: TiZO Age Defying Fusion sunscreen.
What do we love about TiZO Sunscreen?
TiZO mineral sunscreen provides a 100% physical block. TiZO’s main ingredients include Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. The United States EPA has ranked these ingredients as #1 and #2 for UVA-UVB protection. The minerals in the sunscreen are pharmaceutical-grade which means they sit on top of the skin and are not absorbed, decreasing the possibility of skin irritation. TiZO also has a hint of Iron Oxide in it to enhance the skin, eliminate the white residue, and conceal skin imperfections. Consequently, TiZO makes a fantastic primer for under make-up (huge bonus!).
What do they mean by “Age Defying Fusion”?
This pure and gentle sunscreen is comprised of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide particle sizes that are constructed to create a uniform layer of coverage on your skin. This prevents the UVA-UVB rays from reaching the skin and therefore inhibits premature skin aging and the forming of free radicals (both of which cause fine lines and wrinkles).
How does it wear?
TiZO is formulated with epidermal conditioners so it goes on silky smooth without leaving a white residue or making your skin feel or look oily. TiZO is free of oils, fragrances, and parabens.
Who is TiZO recommended for?
TiZO sunscreen can be used on all skin types including on people with post-facial procedures (laser, cosmetic surgery, facial peels, Vibradermabrasion), acne, eczema, psoriasis, and people with photo-sensitive skin.
For optimum protection from the sun’s rays, we recommend using a sunscreen year round.
